After using the viewer for a year (there really is nothing else like it), i stumbled upon the tutorial video.
There i learned of the keyboard shortcut to zoom vertically.
I always assumed that there was none, because the other interface elements (tools, zoom reset, ...) show their shortcut in the tooltip.
Could you please add the missing shortcuts to their respective tooltips?
Maybe for Undo and Redo as well?
It sounds trivial, but i think it might of some help, not only to new users.
Feature Request: Keyboard Shortcuts in tooltips
Re: Feature Request: Keyboard Shortcuts in tooltips
Hello and thank you for your feedback! However I'm not sure which tooltip you're referring to... The toolbar button "Zoom Out Vertically" should show the keyboard shortcut in its tooltip:
There's another toolbar button "Scroll Wheel Zooms Vertically", but that command currently has no keyboard shortcut.
On the other hand, the context menu that appears when you right-click a plot doesn't show the shortcuts, and also the tooltips for the main toolbar buttons at the top (Open, Undo etc) don't show the shortcuts either. I agree with you - the shortcuts should be shown there too, and I'll add them for the next version. Thanks for the suggestion!
Best regards,
Gustaf

Re: Feature Request: Keyboard Shortcuts in tooltips
Sorry, i meant for "Scroll Wheel Zooms Vertically".
For me (Version 1.18) pressing Ctrl + scrolling actually does vertical zoom. Adding "(Ctrl)" to the tooltip would be similar to the "(E)" added to the "Select Tool" button. In one case the keyboard shortcut changes the behaviour of the left mouse button, in the other it changes the behaviour of the scroll wheel.

Re: Feature Request: Keyboard Shortcuts in tooltips
Thanks for clarifying - now I see what you mean! The reason I didn't put Ctrl in that tooltip is essentially that clicking that button and pressing Ctrl don't do exactly the same thing, because clicking the button sets a new scroll wheel mode, while Ctrl only temporarily allows vertical scroll while it's being held down. So if I put Ctrl in the tooltip, users might try to press Ctrl to change the scroll wheel mode, and it won't work, and I'd receive a bug report in this forum.
But I agree with your point still, that it would be helpful with some hint. I'll think of a formulation in the tooltip or some other hint that makes it easier to realize that Ctrl allows vertical scroll. Thanks again!
